Charles C. Ort
I was born October 4th, 1957 in Hackettstown, New Jersey. At age 17, I moved to Key West, Florida, to begin a 4-year degree in Ornamental Horticulture. I completed my degree in 1979 at the University of Florida, where I enjoyed serving as the President of the Ornamental Horticulture Club. Upon graduating, my landscape career began at the Turkey Creek Country Club in Alachua, Florida, as grounds supervisor. After a year, I moved to Gainesville, Florida, to work for the Department of Agriculture, designing and maintaining their facility. Opportunities then presented themselves in Ocala, Florida, where I worked for Greentree, Kingswood & Porter's Nurseries as a residential designer. Then, after moving back to my home state of New Jersey for 10 years, I started Yard Charlie, a full scale design and contracting firm. Currently, we are based out of Orlando, Florida, servicing the Central Florida region.
Thirty eight years after the beginning of my landscape designing career, I am still following my passion and loving every minute of it. Having accounts across the United States, and studying horticulture throughout Europe and the Caribbean, has allowed me to provide you with a comprehensive approach to designing a sustainable and attractive outdoor living space.
